In the alleged interest of privacy, Firefox has added code which allows to route all DNS look-ups over HTTPS to a resolver of your choice. Typically DNS queries are routed through your ISP, so while they cannot view your traffic as long as it's encrypted (HTTPS), they can see what websites you visit and this is a very serious privacy concern.
